Simple Homeschool School Room Tour - An Update On Our Spare Bedroom School Room Space

We are LOVING our school room. I didn't know what I was missing! Since setting up our space we've made a few minor changes.

We added a rug under the table which really cozied up the space and is helping me ignore the textured carpet for now!

We also pulled the table away from the wall, rotated it lengthwise, and moved our bench to accommodate more seating.

This room is not overly large, and initially I had the table pushed against the wall thinking that would make the space feel larger, but in reality having it pulled away with a bench against the wall actually makes the space feel huge! With only one chair on the wall with the bookcases, it feels less crowded when grabbing books. Win win!

We still need to finish painting the trim and switch out the outlet covers! haha. Real life! Anyway, I brought in the play kitchen to help keep little hands busy. We also have baskets in the bookcase of blocks, legos, music toys, and magnatiles. All of which help distract the youngsters while we are working. The closet in this room is a small walk in and holds extra craft and art supplies, board games, sewing machines, and musical instruments.

This room is simple and very budget friendly. We've repurposed things from around our house and bought inexpensive furniture to make it work for us. It also doubles as my office, and I love having a dedicated work space for the kids and I that is not right in the center of our home. This room is a pretty standard size bedroom, about 12 x 14, and there is plenty of space for us all. Don't be discouraged if you don't have a massive space or budget to work with!
