Fall Capsule Wardrobe 2023 - Easy Modest Outfits For Moms
Links to all of these items at the end of this post.
Happy Fall Y'all!
Fall is my favorite time of year! I love getting our house cozy with candles, extra throw pillows, and blankets. I love having our (electric, unfortunately) fireplaces going. A season of slippers and cozy outfits. I also LOVE dressing for fall. So here is my capsule wardrobe. These are either exact pieces I own, or similar ones if the ones I own are no longer available. Currently my blazer is a Navy Corduroy as you will see in the pictures, but I'm on the hunt to find a thrifted plaid blazer to replace it with. I've linked all the pieces from the image above at the end of this post!
Outfit Formulas
I have pretty simple outfit formulas that I rotate in the fall.
Dress + Tights + Sweater / Cardigan
Maxi Skirt + Tee + Sweater
Jeans + Tee + Sweater
Leggings + Sweater
Around the house you will find me barefoot, in cozy socks/tights, or in slippers. Depending on weather, I will choose outerwear and footwear when going outdoors. I have a staple long black wool coat that I have had for a decade and still going strong. It was an investment (thanks mom!), but well worth it. I wore it layered over sweaters when pregnant and it couldn't close. I really recommend investing in a seriously warm coat that is also stylish. I love that I can wear it to church or running errands with jeans. Looks great both ways!
cardigan + tee + maxi skirt
cardigan + green/yellow floral smocked dress + tights
sweater + maxi skirt
sweater + maxi skirt + blazer + tights
tee + jean jacket + maxi skirt + hat
tee + maxi skirt + long black coat
tee + quarter zip sweater + maxi skirt
blue floral smocked dress + rust quarter zip sweater + tights
tee + quarter zip sweater + light wash straight leg jeans
Outfit pictures are something I feel awkward taking, but hopefully this helps you see how these pieces can work together in these easy formulas!
Links
As promised here are the links to these pieces:
I'm not currently an affiliate or influencer or anything, but I do find it helpful even for myself to have these images and links gathered. I used this post as an excuse to go through and declutter my closet. If I didn't want to include it in the capsule to share online, then I didn't think it was really worth keeping! There is a life hack for you. How to declutter your closet: step one, write a blog post about what is in your closet.
Until next time,
Cris
